ACL Awards More Than $12 Million to Strengthen State Respite Systems
ACL is announcing 10 new state grants totaling $12,657,503 over three years under its Lifespan Respite Care Program to strengthen services, expand partnerships, and reduce barriers to respite care. The program supports family caregivers of all ages, disabilities, and health conditions.
Respite care provides caregivers with a much-needed break, helping protect their health and well-being. These new grants will strengthen state respite systems and help ensure that caregivers and families have better access to high-quality, sustainable caregiving support.

In addition, states may offer training programs for family caregivers, including new caregivers, to help them make informed decisions about respite care. States may also provide other essential services needed to support the delivery of respite care.
